The party eventually vanquished the axemen harassing the Forest Giant. The Froest Giant explained that other axemen captured her Tortoro, or Forest Troll, and pleaded with the party to rescue the troll immediately. Batu easily found the tracks and led the crew to a rocky formation with a cave entrance. Smoke was billowing through an opening at the top of the rocky formation and flames flickered from within the cave.
Necfut and Rafiki choose to climb above to observe through an oculous opening above. Upon spying down the enemies below, they saw a makeshift portal apparatus with the Tortoro in the center. The mad Druid Neguto was chanting on a pedalstal, while 4 fire elementals kept the forest troll at bay. An energy beam lanced out towards a portal, where elementals could pour out. Necfut and Rafiki decided to drop their full waterskins down upon a lone fire elemental, dousing him out completely. As the fire elemental sizzled away, Yum Yum and Kai decided to crash in, but Yum Yum triggered a fire trap, searing off his eyebrows. 6 axemen were camped near the entrance, shaken by the sudden entering monks.
The battle raged between the giant and clan members against the the mad Druid, his enraged bear companion, the axemen cronies, and the occasional summoned elemental. The forest giant used her ability to Entangle the axemen, allowing the Monks to make short work of them. However, the bear tore into Rafiki and the mad druid's ice spells almost killed Batu and Necfut. But as the enemies and elementals numbers widdled down, Neguto fled into the ground, escaping.
The Torturo was saved, the party camped, and the Forest Giant explained that Neguto was a disgraced clan druid who was expelled for trying to betray Clan Mandarin. And it occurred to the Forest Giant that Neguto will most likely attack the Elemental Temple knowing it is was decimated of all the druid keepers. The party left camp and double timed it back to the temple.
When the party returned, they learned they beat Neguto back. The temple was manned by the clan Druid elder, the 2 samurai, and the clan elder Cleric; all seemed well. However, mist began forming outside of the temple and Neguto demanded the party to come outside and commence their final battle for the temple. The party decided to take defensive position inside, but to their surprise, 2 barrels with fuses rolled in. Necfut deftly tumbled through the barrels outside before they exploded, smoking the interior of the temple.
As the party exited the temple, they were greated by 3 axemen. Neguto took a tactical approach by being perched on top of a tall column, protected by a windwall and entangle. He also summoned a huge Dire wolf. But again, with the help of the Forest Giant, the party vanquished the enemy, by the skin of their teeth. And again, Neguto fled through the underground. It occured to Rafiki that Neguto must be limited through travel in that fashion. With the combined efforts of the clan druid, Forest Giant, Batu, and Necfut, they were able to determine where Neguto would return to the surface. Batu then charged down Neguto with his horse, and Necfut tied him up with a fishing net. Then the clan elder Druid indicated Neguto will eventually escape by turning into a bird, so he was sentenced to death so the clan clerics could interrogate his corpse via speak with dead; Rafiki gladly beheaded Neguto.
